Calligraforms

2019 – on going

As a former teenage immigrant, I’ve found language a challenging space. Inspired by my native Farsi alphabet and Persian calligraphy, these illustrations explore the human body to create a new visual language. This abstraction of both calligraphy and human forms have become vessels to express my personal nexus of immigration trauma, sexual trauma, gender politics, and, more recently, the Women Life Freedom movement.
